FAQ: Prickly Pear Dewy Hydrating Face Oil
We at Root Remedies have heard you loud and clear! Our Customer Happiness Officers have compiled the most frequently asked questions regarding our newly launched Dewy Oil, and now here are the answers.
What are the benefits of the Dewy Oil?
The main benefits include deep, effective moisturisation for drier skin types, fading hyperpigmentation, reducing signs of aging, and protecting the skin from environmental stress. Secondary benefits include combating acne bacteria and soothing inflammation.
Which skin type is most suitable for the Dewy Oil?
Those with dry to dry-combination skin types would benefit the most from the Dewy Oil, as its rich texture and hydrating properties help to plump up parched skin and leave behind a natural glow. If you’re also looking for a skincare product to reduce signs of aging and hyperpigmentation, the Dewy Oil is also highly recommended!
Dewy Oil is specially formulated for dry to dry-combination skin types.
Can I use the Dewy Oil if I have sensitive skin?
It truly depends, as it is an oil blend there could be a particular ingredient your skin doesn’t agree with or perhaps you might be sensitive to essential oils. Our Dewy Oil’s formula is made with safely diluted essential oils to avoid irritation and in many cases can even treat inflammation and redness, but everyone’s skin can react differently. As always, we recommend a patch test before committing to any skincare product. For those with sensitive skin who have a hard time finding products that work, we would recommend our Gromwell Squalane Gentle Restoring Face Oil instead!
Is the Dewy Oil better for day or night use?
You can use the Dewy Oil during the day or night, and for optimal results we recommend using it twice a day. If you find the texture to be a bit heavy for AM usage (oilier skin types may experience this), then you can apply it as a soothing, aromatic moisturiser during your PM routine.
Where should I use the Dewy Oil in my skincare routine?
The Dewy Oil is formulated to be used as a moisturiser, so you can apply it after cleansing and toning your skin. We also recommend applying any facial oils on slightly damp skin to lock in extra hydration.
What does the Dewy Oil smell like?
The refreshing, floral scent of Ylang Ylang and Geranium are the top notes, which are then complemented by the calming, herbal scent of German Chamomile and Lavender. This combination of essential oils used in the Dewy Oil creates a one-of-a-kind aroma that awakens the senses and enhances relaxation. We’ve also only used the natural fragrances of our plant-based ingredients, and use no synthetic sources.
What is the texture of the Dewy Oil like?
It is a medium-weight oil, with a rich and silky texture that absorbs very easily. Those with dry skin will find that it provides just the right amount of dewiness and hydration, while those with oilier skin types may find it a bit too heavy.
Could I use the Dewy Oil on my hair or body?
Yes! The Dewy Oil contains a large amount of Vitamin E and nourishing fatty acids that make it perfect for moisturising your hair or body. You can use it to hydrate areas that are prone to dryness, such as the elbows and knees. It’s also great for the ends of your hair or anywhere you experience excessive frizz, so you can enjoy stronger, shinier locks and carry that enchanting aroma wherever you go!
Is the Dewy Oil suitable to wear under makeup?
Yes, the Dewy Oil can be used as a primer before you apply your makeup or you can mix it with your foundation for that famous “glass skin” effect.
Is the Dewy Oil vegan and cruelty free?
Yes, the Dewy Oil is 100% vegan and cruelty free!
Do I need to use the Dewy Oil with a moisturiser?
It’s very hydrating on its own, so the need for an additional moisturiser isn’t necessary.
How long until I start seeing results?
As with all skincare products, the full effects are usually shown after the completion of one skin cycle (21-28 days), however you’ll see instant results when it comes to hydrating dry areas and seeing a dewy finish on the skin.
Can I use the Dewy Oil under my eyes?
As long as the ingredients don’t irritate your skin you can use the Dewy Oil under your eyes (but avoid the waterline!), although you may want to apply it more sparingly compared to other areas of the face. However, if you prefer something lighter, we would recommend using our Turmeric & Lemon Eye Serum instead, as it is formulated for the delicate eye area.
Is the Dewy Oil suitable for acne-prone skin?
This depends on the individual’s skin type, and you should definitely do a patch test to see if it triggers any negative reactions. The Dewy Oil contains many ingredients with anti-acne benefits and consistent usage could help treat and prevent breakouts, so long as your skin isn’t sensitive to essential oils. For a more targeted acne treatment, consider adding our Tamanu Pure Oil or Tea Tree & Lemongrass Blemish Serum to your routine.
If you’re looking for a product that can help clogged pores or congested skin, we would recommend a lightweight oil that can deeply penetrate the pores, like our Gentle Oil or Argan Pure Oil.
Can I mix the Dewy Oil with other oils?
Due to it already being an oil blend, we wouldn’t recommend mixing the Dewy Oil with other products (besides your Cleanser, Toner, Serum, and Sunscreen), as it is already a carefully crafted balance of carrier oils and essential oils.
Our Dewy Oil consists of a unique blend of Prickly Pear Oil, German Chamomile Oil, Lavender Oil, and Sweet Almond Oil.
Does the Dewy Oil contain any artificial/synthetic ingredients and/or preservatives?
Nope, the only ingredients we’ve used in this oil blend are high quality, plant-based oils.
